Half of University subjects are garbage

Half of University subjects are garbage, unrelated to the specific course or the real world, total 'egghead' nonsense and a waste of my money. I like the subjects which are related, but for instance, I study I.T and one of my subjects this semester is run by the arts department and it's just writing essays on various things vaguely related to computers, and I mean vaguely.

i agree. it's all about money, so the more subjects they cram down your throat the better, and as the number of subjects increases, their relevance seems to decrease.

While that is true, courses are developed from a set of guidelines which include mandatory units of competency from OTHER qualifications. So a lot of those irrelevant subjects area side effect of that practice.
